Free And Equal DC

Update: The U.S. Senate failed to invoke cloture on the D.C. Voting Rights bill on Tuesday, September 18th by a vote of 57-42.

Did you know that every day over 600,000 Americans are denied a basic right in our democracy? For people who live in the District of Columbia, "taxation without representation" isn't just in the history books, it's alive and well. District citizens are denied voting representation in their own government.

The DC Voting Rights Act, which would give residents of the District of Columbia a full vote in the House, is now in the U.S. Senate. The legislation has bi-partisan support, but faces an uphill battle. Senators need to hear from real people who support this bill. That's where you come in. Please take a minute and help end the disenfranchisement of over a half-million of your fellow American citizens.
